Supervision

Supervision (Consultative Support)

As therapy is about personal development, supervision is about professional development. It is much more than talking about clients, it can involve all aspects of your professional life as a counsellor. As a supervisor, I experience your clients through you, as I am not in relationship with them, so supervision is a dialogue between the part of you that monitors your practice – your Internal Supervisor* and me your External Supervisor*. It is a collaborative relationship, and we work together to help you to be a more effective counsellor.

The BACP recommends one and a half hours supervision per month, and this is the arrangement that I would expect. If you are having supervision somewhere else and want to work with me as a “top up” , then we would negotiate according to your needs. I offer supervision individually and in small groups. My hourly rate is the same so group supervision is a cheaper alternative. I also offer supervision to teachers of counselling or supervision.

If I supervise your work in any capacity or if you are on one of my diploma courses, you automatically become an associate and this entitles you to 25% off my CPD courses. (See the ‘HOME’ page)

My rates are £60 per hour or £80 for an hour and a half individual supervision.
